Women's Tennis Loses To Notre Dame, 6-1

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Junior Amy Molden (El Cajon, Calif.) defeated Kristina Stastny in a match tie-breaker, 3-6, 6-4 (1-0), to earn the lone victory for Boston College in a 6-1 loss to 26th-ranked Notre Dame on the campus of Virginia Tech, Saturday, Feb. 14. The loss is the second conference loss for the Eagles in as many days.
One Eagle dropped a three-set match. Sophomore Szilvia Szegedi (Dumakeszi, Hungary) fell to Alicia Salas in no. 1 singles play, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Boston College drops to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in BIG EAST play. Notre Dame improves to 4-1 and 1-0 in conference action.
The Eagles will seek redemption Friday, Feb. 20 when they host Cincinnati. The match is scheduled to get underway at 4:00 p.m.
