Men's Tennis Loses To George Washington, 4-3

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Seniors Paul Colahan (Beverly, Mass.) and Justin Slattery (Hampton, N.H.) were taken to three sets but emerged victorious to lead Boston College in a 4-3 loss to George Washington Saturday at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
The Eagles (2-2) split the six singles matches and dropped 2-of-3 doubles matches in the defeat. For George Washington, the win marked its third straight. The Colonials improve to 4-4.
Colahan, playing in the no. 4 singles position, won the first set 7-5 and dropped the set, 4-6, before defeating Daniel Raisbeck by winning the third set six games to four. At the no. 1 singles spot, Slattery won the first and third sets, 7-6, to collect the win. Junior Derrick Chou (Great Neck, N.Y.) captured the final singles win for BC, defeating Will Timmons, 6-2, 6-0.
Chou, who won both his matches on the day, teamed with sophomore Kiernan Laughlin (Phoenix, Arix.) to defeat Raisbeck and Brett Warner, 9-8, for the doubles win.
The Eagles travel to Hanover, N.H. tomorrow to face Dartmouth. The match begins at 2:00 p.m.
