Women's Tennis Falls To Virginia Tech, 4-3

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore Szilvia Szegedi (Dumakeszi, Hungary) recorded singles and doubles victories to lead Boston College in a 4-3 BIG EAST loss to Virginia Tech Friday evening in Blacksburg, Va.
The Eagles (2-1, 0-1) split the six singles matches and dropped 2-of-3 doubles matches in the defeat.
Szegedi topped Anat Elazari, 6-2, 6-3, in No. 1 singles play while junior Morgan Landes (Huron, Ohio) beat Ashley James in the No.4 spot, and Amy Molden (El Cajon, CA ) defeated Carolina Rodriguez, 6-4, 6-1 to round out the singles winners for BC.
Szegedi teamed with senior Allison Ashley (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) to pick up the doubles win.
Boston College continues play tomorrow when it faces BIG EAST foe Notre Dame in Blacksburg, Va. The match is scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m.
