The Boston College track and field team will open its indoor season on Saturday when it heads to Harvard for a dual meet against the Crimson at 12 p.m. at the Gordon Track and Tennis Center in Cambridge, Mass.
In last season's season-opening meet against Harvard, the women's team captured first-place in eight of 12 events. The men's team boasted the first-place finisher in five events.
"The kids have been on campus since September and they're anxious and excited to start the indoor season," said coach Randy Thomas.
The women's track team is fresh off the most successful season in school history. The Eagles finished second at last season's indoor New England Championships and finished first at the outdoors.
At last season's meet against Harvard, men's senior co-captain Ashley Jefferson won the 60-meter dash in 7.51 seconds and classmate Daniel MacIsaac finished first in the 800-meters with a time of 1:57.26.
After Saturday's meet, Boston College will have more than a month to prepare for its next competition. The Eagles will return to action on January 15 at 11 a.m. in the Boston University "All Corners" event.
