Men's soccer senior co-captain Guy Melamed was selected to participate in Major League Soccer's player combine from January 8-11 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Sixty-six college players from around the nation were selected by a panel of NCAA Division I and MLS coaches to attend the combine. Representatives from all 12 MLS teams will be in attendance.
Melamed led the Eagles to the Sweet 16 of this year's NCAA Tournament before a loss to second-seeded Indiana last Sunday, 1-0. The three-time team co-captain was named the 2004 Big East Midfielder of the Year after having been selected as the conference's Preseason Defender of the Year. He was also named to the All-Big East first team for the third consecutive season. Melamed notched one goal and four assists during the 2004 campaign.
The MLS SuperDraft will be held on Friday, January 14, in Baltimore, Md.
