CHESTNUT, HILL, Mass. - Head coach Jen Finley and the Boston College softball team will conduct a basic skills clinic in the "Bubble" during the month of January. The clinic will take place under the dome that covers the Alumni Stadium turf field during the winter.
"The Bubble" features full-sized batting cages, the ability to have full field scrimmages, and areas for pitchers to warm-up.
The clinic staff will be supervised by Finley and assistant coaches Cori Van Dusen and Brian Macchi. Under Finley's guidance, the Eagles have collected three BIG EAST Championships and three NCAA appearances.
The clinic will run on four successive Sundays in January....the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. The day will see action from 1-3 p.m., and emphasis will be placed on hitting and pitching. Each weekend will concentrate on specific skill work, among them base running, fly ball technique, bunting, and execution. There will be scrimmages at the end of camp.
Players ages 12-18 are welcome and the cost is $225 per player. Groups of nine or more players will be charged $175 per player. Registration is being accepted through December 23 only.
