AMHERST, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Brooke Queenan scored 13 of her 21 points in the second half as No. 20 Boston College pulled away for a 62-47 victory over Massachusetts.
Both teams shot 43 percent (13-of-30) in the first half, which ended with Boston College (3-1) holding a slim 30-29 advantage.
Massachusetts (1-3) could not maintain that pace in the second half, making just 35 percent (6-of-17) of its shots in the final 20 minutes, while the Eagles shot 50 percent (11-of-22) in the final period.
The Minutewomen drew within 38-37 on two free throws by Tamara Tatham with 12:39 remaining, but Jessalyn Deveny hit a 3-pointer on the other end, igniting a 13-2 run over the next six minutes to break open the game.
Deveny had 14 points and six rebounds for Boston College, who have defeated Massachusetts four straight times on the road.
Tatham scored 14 points and Pam Rosanio added 13 for the Minutewomen.
The game was a reunion for Boston College coach Cathy Inglese and Massachusetts coach Mamie Dacko, who were teammates at Southern Connecticut State from 1977-78.
