Freshman Dan Bertram earned Hockey East "Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Week" honors for the second time this season for his performance in the Eagles' 5-3 win over No.4 North Dakota.
Bertram, who has been playing on the first line alongside Ryan Shannon and Patrick Eaves, netted his third goal of the season at 3:44 in the first period to put the Eagles up 1-0.
He also scored BC's last goal to ice the victory over North Dakota. Eaves poked the puck from a defender and Bertram cruised in for the empty-net tally with 49 seconds remaining in regulation. This was BC's first empty-net goal since March 12, 2004 against Boston University.
In his freshman campaign, Bertram has four points on four goals. Boston College (3-1-0) is currently ranked No.1 in the country and plays No.9 University of Maine on Friday night at 7 p.m.
