Two high-school standouts - 6-foot-3-inch guard Marquez Haynes and 6-foot-7-inch forward Evan Neisler - have signed national letters of intent to play basketball at Boston College, according to an announcement by Boston College head coach Al Skinner. Both players will enroll at BC in September 2005 and begin play during the 2005-06 season.
Haynes averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game at Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas last winter. He gained even greater notoriety this past summer while playing in the Dallas Pump-N-Run AAU program.
Neisler, who will play for Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., this winter, averaged 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game at Cary (N.C.) High School in 2003-04. Prior to that, he'd played two seasons at Fairfield (Conn.) Prep and one season at Norwalk (Conn.) High School. Neisler gained 17-Under All-Tournament honors at the 2004 Reebok/Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions.
