Women's Swimming And Diving Falls To New Hampshire

The Boston College women's swimming and diving team fell to New Hampshire 186.5-112.5 on Friday afternoon at Swasey Pool in Durham, N.H. Jennifer Rhines led the Eagles by capturing both the one and three meter diving events.
Elizabeth Byron had a solid meet for the Eagles. The junior swam in three individual events and took first place in two events. She won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.84 and the 100 butterfly in a time of 58.35. Byron finished second in the 100 freestyle in a time of 53.21.
The Eagles also swam well in the 200 individual medley. Carolyn Bowman took a second place finish at 2:11.98, while Mari Wunschel came in third at 2:12.53. Bowman also put in a strong performance in the 200 breaststroke. The sophomore hit the wall second with a time of 2:26.07.
In diving, Rhines controlled both events. The junior won the one-meter dive with 244.85 points and the three-meter with 244.90 points.
BC closed out the meet with a good swim in the 400 free relay. The team of Tanya Suryoutomo, Holly Boucher, Elizabeth Snyder, and Byron took second place with a time of 339.30.
BC (3-1) will host Fordham in its first home meet of the season on Friday, November 5 at 6 p.m.
