Men's Swimming And Diving Downs New Hampshire

The Boston College men's swimming and diving team earned its third win of the season on Friday afternoon. The Eagles won 11 of the 16 events and defeated New Hampshire 207.5-79.5 at the Swasey Pool in Durham, N.H.
The Eagles looked strong from the start by sweeping the 200 medley relay. The team of Tim Tully, Brandon Twichell, Thomas Martz, and Matt Northrup hit the wall first with a time of 139.99.
Northrup led the Eagles with two victories in the 50 and 100 freestyles. The sophomore finished the 50 in a time of 23.84 and the 100 in 49.04. Classmate, Andrew Faughnan finished just behind Northrup in both events with times of 23.94 and 49.42 respectively.
BC also dominated both of the backstroke events. The Eagles finished in the top-three in the 100 and 200. Michael Cartwright won the 100 in a time of 56:20, while Thomas Nececkas and Mark Green finished just behind him with times of 57.52 and 57.76 respectively. In the 200, Alex Zucco took home the victory in a time of 2:05.91. Nececkas came in second with a time of 2:06.06 and Colin Scott finished third at 2:06.31.
The Eagles also owned both butterfly events. In the 100, Martz finished first with a time of 52.85. Tully and Jonathan Salibra came in second and third at 54.08 and 56.74 respectively. Salibra continued to swim well in the 200 fly. The sophomore took first in a time of 2:04.48. Mark Fennell and Kurt Zwald finished behind their teammate with times of 2:07.12 and 2:09.79 respectively.
Brandon Twichell put in another solid performance for the Eagles. The senior won the 200 breastroke by more than two seconds with a time of 2:14.78 and finished second in the 100 with a time of 1:01.23.
In diving, Christopher Wilson-Byrne controlled the one-meter diving event with a winning-score of 256.10. The sophomore also finished second in the three-meter with 214.70 points.
BC (3-1) will host Fordham its first home meet of the season on Friday, November 5 at 6 p.m.
