The Boston College volleyball team hosts Georgetown (11-7) in its first BIG EAST match of the season on Saturday, October 9. The Eagles have won five straight and are 12-7 on the season.
Head coach Andrea Leonard is pleased with her team's performance over the past few weeks and looks forward to the upcoming conference matches. "The team is playing really well right now. We are improving every game; every match we go out there and that's our ultimate goal. We keep moving forward and that's all I can ask for. I am very happy with the progress we have made," says Coach Leonard.
BC topped cross-town rival Harvard on Tuesday night. The Eagles defeated the Crimson in four games for their fifth consecutive win. Dorota Niemczewska stepped up for BC with a match-high 19 kills, while Allison Anderson dominated at libero with 26 digs.
The Eagles will face a hot Hoya squad. Georgetown has won three in a row including a big victory on Tuesday over George Washington. "Georgetown is a very competitive team and they are having a great season this year. It is just a matter of us seeing if we can go out there and improve on our game," says Coach Leonard.
BC will kick off the weekend of BIG EAST action on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Eagles will continue play on Sunday when they host Villanova (4-9) at 1 p.m.
