Men's Tennis Finishes Fall Season At ITA Championship

The men's tennis team sent three players to the ITA Men's Northeast Regional Championships this weekend in Blacksburg, Va.
Senior co-captains Derrick Chou and Chris McCoy both won matches in the qualifying draw with Chou gaining entry into the main tournament. Chou defeated Stony Brook's Jonathan Gamberg - 7-6 (4), 6-4 - in the first round of the qualifier before dropping his second match to Antonio Aniello of St. Joseph's in three sets - 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. Chou lost his opening round match in the main draw in straight sets.
McCoy defeated Rutgers' Jonathan Wanono - 6-1, 6-4 - in his first match, but failed to get into the singles' main draw after dropping his next match to Walter Garcia of Niagara - 6-0, 6-1.
Freshman Artom Bogdanovich played in the tournament's main draw and won his opening match, defeating Wagner's Greg Avola - 7-6 (3), 6-2. Bogdanovich lost his second-round contest to Harvard's Martin Wetzel, the tournament's champion - 6-1, 6-4.
The tournament marked the end of the fall tennis season for the Eagles. Sophomore Soma Kesthely and freshman Chris Louis each registered five victories during the fall.
