Freshman goaltender Cory Schneider (Marblehead, Mass) earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against UMass-Lowell on October 19. The announcement was made by the league office.

Schneider made 23 saves to lead BC to a 3-2 victory over No.15 UMass-Lowell in the league opener for both teams.

Schneider, in his collegiate debut, saved 23 of 25 of UML's shots. In the final 8:25, he stopped all nine shots he faced. The 2004 Vancouver Canucks' first round draft pick played all 60 minutes.

Schneider is the first Eagle to attain the Defensive Player of the Week accolade thus far in the 2004-05 season.
