Boston College senior defenseman Andrew Alberts sustained a right knee (MCL) sprain in the Eagles' season-opening game on Oct. 15, according to head coach Jerry York. Alberts' injury is expected to sideline him for 4-6 weeks.
Alberts' injury will end his streak of 120 consecutive games played at Boston College. The 6-foot-4-inch defenseman has played in every game since arriving at BC in the fall of 2001.
The injury occurred in the first period of the season opener against defending national champion Denver. Top-ranked BC won the game, 6-2.
