Allison Anderson was recognized by the BIG EAST on Monday afternoon for her stellar performances over the weekend in wins against Georgetown and Villanova. The sophomore led the Eagles to a 3-0 record and 2-0 conference mark during the week.
Anderson dominated defensively in both wins over the BIG EAST rivals. On Saturday the sophomore registered a BC-record 46 digs in the 3-2 win over Georgetown. Anderson would shatter her own record with 57 digs on Sunday in the 3-2 victory over Villanova. In this impressive effort, Anderson set the NCAA and BIG EAST record for number of digs in a single match (since rally scoring began).
Anderson also started off the week with a strong performance against Harvard on Tuesday. In the non-conference match up, she completed 24 digs. Anderson averaged a remarkable 9.2 digs per game and added five service aces over the week.
The Eagles (14-7, 2-0) have won seven straight and will look to extend their win streak on Tuesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Providence to play the Friars.
