
Guy Melamed Named To Hermann Trophy Watch List

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Boston College soccer star Guy Melamed has been placed on the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy Watch List announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Tuesday. A total of 15 of the nation's finest college soccer players were mentioned.
The M.A.C.'s Hermann Trophy is college soccer's version of the Heisman Trophy and represents the highest level of individual achievement in the sport.
Melamed, a back from Nofit, Israel, was earlier named to Soccer America's Preseason All-America team. As a sophomore, Melamed was selected as a second team College Soccer News All-American and a third team NSCAA/adidas All-American. He was a first team All-BIG EAST and NSCAA All-New England selection while leading the Eagles to their most successful season in program history.
Boston College took home BIG EAST regular season and tournament championships before advancing to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles finished 18-5-0.
The Eagles are in action this Saturday for the home-opener against Farleigh Dickinson on the Newton Campus Soccer Field. First touch is set for 1 p.m.
