South Bend, Ind. - After faltering in the first two rounds, the Boston College women's golf team came back strong in the final round to move up to sixth in the 14-team field at this weekend's Notre Dame Invitational played at Warren Golf Club. Freshman Alison Walshe finished second overall with an aggregate score of 229, just one shot behind individual medalist Stephanie Donkin (Western Michigan).
Junior Kori Goulet tied for 23rd with a score of 243 and sophomore Elizabeth Friel and freshman Jessica Steward each posted scores of 246, good for a tie for 32nd. Steward shot a two-over-par 74 in the final round, which tied for the lowest single-round score of the tournament.
The women's golf team will be back in competition this weekend when they travel to New Haven to play in the Yale University Intercollegiate.
