Women's Cross Country Takes Second At BC Select Meet

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The 22nd-ranked Boston College women's cross country squad opened the 2003 season on a great note, posting a second-place finish in the 10-team Boston College Select Meet today at Franklin Park. The Eagles finished with 63 points, behind only Providence (31 points).
Senior captain Jennifer Kramer was the top BC finisher, placing third overall with a time of 17:17. Classmate Jennifer Donovan was right behind, placing fourth with a time of 17:38. Melissa Sherman also finished in the top ten, posting a time of 18:23, good for tenth place. Freshman Jessica Flinn, running in her first collegiate event, was just two seconds behind, finishing 11th overall. Junior Meghan Ruane (38th/19:20) was the fifth Boston College scorer.
The Eagles will be off until September 27 when they travel to the University of Minnesota to participate in the Roy Griak Invitational.
