Men's Cross Country Takes Third At BC Select Meet

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College men's cross country squad opened the 2003 campaign positively, posting a third-place finish in the nine-team Boston College Select Meet today at Franklin Park. The Eagles finished with 106 points, behind Providence (29 points) and Brown (74 points).
Senior co-captain Byron Gartrell was the top BC finisher, placing fifth overall with a time of 24:35. Sophomore Drew Bouchard also finished in the top ten, posting a time of 24:56, good for ninth place.
Freshman Mark Alizzi, running in his first collegiate event, finished 24th (25:23). Trevor Rozier-Byrd (29th/25:34) and Joe Lesniak (43rd/25:55) rounded out the scorers for Boston College.
The Eagles will be off until September 27 when they travel to the University of Minnesota to participate in the Roy Griak Invitational.
