Guy Melamed Earns Soccer America Preseason All-America Status

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior back Guy Melamed (Nofit, Israel) was named a Preseason All-American by Soccer America, announced on Monday. Melamed was a 2003 Preseason All-BIG EAST selection and took home National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-America Third Team honors last year.
The BIG EAST placed three players on the 11-man squad including Chris Wingert (St. John's) and Cesar Cuellar (Connecticut).
Boston College, which finished with a 18-5-0 record last fall, has been tabbed preseason No. 13 in the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I National Rankings. Melamed and his teammates open the 2003 season on August 30 at Pittsburgh. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
