Donovan Advances To Finals At NCAA Track Championships

Sacramento, Calif. - Boston College junior Jennifer Donovan placed fifth in her heat of the 3000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships and earned a spot in the event's final competition that will be held on Friday, June 13.
The 2003 NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships are being held at California State University in Sacramento.
Donovan recorded a time of 10:14.32 in the event. She holds the BC record in the steeplechase, having run a 10:12.67 at the BIG EAST Championships last month. That mark shattered her previous best of 10:18.88, set in a winning effort at the Penn Relays in April.
The Melville, N.Y., resident will compete in the steeplechase final on Friday, June 13. The event is scheduled to start at 7:50 p.m. (Pacific time).
