Eaves Named Recipient of 2003 Leonard Fowle Award

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior captain Ben Eaves earned the Leonard Fowle Award, presented to the most valuable college hockey player in New England, the New England Hockey Writers Association announced Tuesday, April 8. Eaves, along with the other award winners, will be honored at the New England Hockey Writers annual banquet on April 16.
Eaves, who was also Hockey East Co-Player of the Year and one of 10 finalists for the 2003 Hobey Baker Award, led Boston College with 57 points - 18 goals and 39 assists - in 36 games. The Faribault, Minn., product was also the Hockey East scoring champion, leading the league with 42 points (14 goals, 28 assists) in 23 conference games.
Eaves is among the nation's leaders in assists per game (third, 1.08) and points per game (seventh, 1.58).
