PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The men's tennis team improved to 2-0 in the BIG EAST with a 4-0 win over West Virginia on Saturday, April 5.
The victory was the Eagles' fifth in a row, and it evens their overall record at 7-7.
Junior Justin Slattery (Hampton, N.H.) and sophomore Chris McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) both rallied from a set down to win their singles matches at Nos. 1 and 3, respectively. Slattery beat Eric Kochanski, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, while McCoy downed Ian Bliss, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Junior Brad Anderson (Edina, Minn.) and sophomore Jonathan Ounjian (Delray Beach, Fla.) had a much easier time in their singles matches, at Nos. 2 and 4, respectively. Both won by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores.
The Eagles are back in action Sunday, April 6 when they square off with Rutgers at 10 a.m.
