PROVIDENCE, RI - In the last regatta of the season, the Boston College women's sailing team finished sixth out of 18 at the New England Women's Championships this past weekend. Senior Carrie Howe and sophomore Joy McDougall finished fourth in the A division. Sophomores Julie Wilson and Jen Doyle placed ninth in the B division, despite having to withdraw from a race late in the second day. The sixth place finish may have qualified the Eagles for a berth at the Women's National Championships, as the final berth allocation will be determined this weekend.
At the conclusion of the event, Howe and Doyle were named to the Women's All New England sailing team. Howe has received the honor each of the last three years while this was the first time for Doyle.
