Men's Hockey Announces the Signing of Two Recruits

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College has signed two recruits to national letters of intent for the 2003-04 season, according to an announcement made by head coach Jerry York. Forward Joe Rooney (Canton/Canton, Mass.) and goalie Joe Pearce (Brick/Brick, N.J.) will enroll at Boston College in September of 2003.
Rooney played the 2001-02 season while a student at St. Sebastian's. He currently plays for the Walpole Junior Stars, where he was named the EJHL offensive player and rookie of the week for the week ending October 6.
Pearce, a 6-5, 215-pound goalie, played the 2001-02 season with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs. With the Monarchs, Pearce played 37 games and boasted a 1.60 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.
