NORFOLK, Va./ NEW LONDON, Conn.- The Boston College sailing team saw double action on March 22-23 as it competed in two regattas. At the Aaron Szambecki Team Race Intersectional in Norfolk, Va., the Eagles placed seventh out of eight, beating out only the host school, Old Dominion. A lack of wind on Saturday caused all of the races to be postponed until noon.
At the Southern New England Team Race, hosted by Connecticut College, the Eagles placed seventh out of 12 teams. With great sailing conditions in New London, Conn., on Sunday, BC and Yale found themselves battling for the sixth and final spot of the Gold Fleet. Yale ended up stealing the last spot while the Eagles ended the day atop the Silver Fleet.
According to the most recent rankings by the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association of North America, Boston College has moved to 13th in the nation.
The Boston Metro Team Race, scheduled for March 22-23, was cancelled due to inclement weather. The race has not been rescheduled.
