
Women's Tennis Sneaks Past BU, 4-3

BOSTON - The women's tennis team met a stiff challenge Saturday, April 12 in the form of Boston University, but it was up to the task, defeating the Terriers, 4-3, at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
Juniors Allison Ashley (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) and Emily Hellberg (Spring Lake, Mich.) and sophomore Amy Molden (El Cajon, Calif.) each were victorious in singles, while the Eagles' No. 2 and 3 doubles teams won their matches to claim the doubles point.
Ashley won a tough 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 match at No. 3 over Alana Marcu, while Molden beat Aimee Charest, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 5. Hellberg won by default.
Ashley also teamed with freshman Szilvia Szegedi (Dumakeszi, Hungary) for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3 doubles, senior Anisha Fernando (Lake Oswego, Ore.) and sophomore Morgan Landes (Huron, Ohio) were awarded the victory by default.
Boston College (11-7, 5-2 BIG EAST) concludes the regular season Wednesday, April 16 when it plays host to Connecticut at 2 p.m.
