
Women's Golf Finishes Second at Brown Invitational

RUNFORD, R.I. - The Boston College women's golf team placed second out of eight teams at the Brown Invitational, held April 12-13 at Agawan Hunt Club in Runford, R.I. The Eagles finished with a score of 328-327-655. Brown won the event with a score of 308-316-624.
Freshman Elizabeth Friel led Boston College, finishing tied for sixth with a score of 80-79-159. Close behind was sophomore Kori Goulet, who finished tied for eighth with a score of 82-79-161.
Sophomore Moira O'Connell finished 13th with a score of 81-86-167, while sophomore Tiffany Wernig shot an 85-83-168, good for a 14th-place tie. Rounding out the top-five for BC was junior Kerry Whalen, who finished 25th with a score of 92-87-179.
Sophomore Elizabeth Callery competed as an individual, finishing tied for 21st with a score of 86-89-175.
Boston College awaits word on if it is selected for the BIG EAST Championship, held April 21-22 at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind. The team returns to action Wednesday, April 16, when it competes at the Beanpot.
