BOSTON - The men's tennis team picked up its fourth win in a row with a 6-1 victory over Boston University on Sunday, March 30 at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
The Eagles (6-7) won two of the three doubles matches in claiming the doubles point and took five of the six singles matches.
Senior captain Damon Vartabedian (Franklin Lakes, N.J) and junior Paul Colahan (Beverly, Mass.) beat Kris Kubacki and Nick Ganias at No. 2 doubles while sophomore Bob Murray (Kenner, La.) and sophomore Derrick Chou (Great Neck, N.Y.) took care of Jason Vinoles and J.P. Debbink, 8-4, at No. 3.
Colahan and Chou were double-winners on the day as they prevailed in their singles matches, at Nos. 3 and 6, respectively. Colahan fought back from a set down to upend Debbink, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Sophomore Chris McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa.), junior Ross Pytko (Oxford, Mass.) and Kiernan Laughlin (Phoenix, Ariz.) captured straight-set singles victories at Nos. 2, 4 and 5, respectively.
Boston College gets back to conference play Saturday, April 5 when it travels to Morgantown, W.Va., to take on West Virginia at 11 a.m.
