Boston College Hosts 106th Annual Intercollegiate Fencing Association Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College hosted the 106th edition of the Intercollegiate Fencing Association Championships Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Flynn Recreation Complex. The twelve-team event brought 254 competitors to the all-day contest.
Columbia University dominated the team events. Columbia finished first in the six-weapon team standings, with 142 victories. Its men's three-weapon team captured the trophy as well. The Columbia women shared the three-weapon team title with Princeton, as each squad recorded 70 victories.
Harvard, Columbia and Princeton topped the competition in the men's saber, foil and epee events, respectively, while on the women's side, Columbia dominated the saber and epee team events, and Princeton captured the top spot in the foil competition.
Individual champions were:
Men's Saber: Tim Hagamen - Harvard
Men's Foil: Cory Werk - Yale
Men's Epee: Soren Thompson - Princeton
Women's Saber: Christina Robinson - Columbia
Women's Foil: Jacqueline Leahy - Princeton
Women's Epee: Erica Korb - Yale
