CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The women's tennis team kicked off the spring season Saturday, Feb. 1 in fine fashion, blanking Dartmouth, 7-0, at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
In winning the match, the Eagles did not drop a single set. Only one match - a 6-1, 7-6 (3) win by junior Emily Hellberg (Spring Lake, Mich./Grand Haven) over Katie Jaxheimer - went to a tiebreaker.
The highlight of the match was a dominating 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles by freshman transfer Szilvia Szegedi (Dumakeszi, Hungary/Hungarian Phys. Ed. Univ.), who was making her Eagle debut.
The team returns to action Friday, Feb. 7, when it takes on Syracuse at the 'Plex at 4 p.m.
