WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Boston College women's hockey goaltender Lisa Davis was named TPS Louisville Player of the Week in the Women's Hockey East Association, as released by the league office on Monday.
The sophomore goalie shined between the pipes for the Eagles this week. Stopping 30 of 32 shots she faced, Davis lifted BC to a berth in the Women's Beanpot final game against Harvard by defeating Northeastern in the opening round, 3-2. The win marked BC's first Hockey East victory.
Davis stopped all 26 shots she faced on Sunday to give the Eagles their first-ever win over Niagara, a 1-0 final. She has backstopped the Eagles to wins in four of their last five competitions.
Davis and the Eagles will face Harvard University, the top team in the nation, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, for the Beanpot title. Face off is at 8 p.m. at Harvard's Bright Hockey Center.
