Boston College senior left wing Tony Voce (Philadelphia, Pa.) has been named Hockey East Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. This is Voce's second such honor of the season, having earned the award in the season's opening week.
Voce scored three goals and also dished out an assist in the Eagles' 5-2 win over Boston University on Friday night. The hat trick was the third of the season for Voce and the fifth of his career. His four points in the game were the most by any BC player in a single game this season. In his last four games, Voce has recorded 10 points (seven goals, three assists).
The senior sniper leads the Eagles in goals (12), power play goals (6) and is tied with Ben Eaves for the team lead in points (18).
Voce is the only player in Hockey East with more than one hat trick this year and becomes the first Eagle since Jeff Farkas in 1999-2000 to post three hat tricks in a single season. The Boston College record for hat tricks in a season is six, by Scott Harlow in 1985-86.
Voce and the 2nd-ranked Eagles (10-2-3, 6-0-2 Hockey East) will return to action on Wednesday, December 10 when they take on Harvard in Kelley Rink. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
