Boston College senior forward Ben Eaves (Faribault, Minn.) earned Hockey East Player of the Month honors for December, the conference announced on Wednesday. In leading the Eagles to a perfect 4-0 record for the month, the BC captain produced 10 points (two goals, eight assists).
Eaves, last season's Hockey East scoring champion and Hobey Baker Award finalist, posted three assists in each of BC's first two December games, wins over BU and Harvard. He then recorded two goals and two assists in two games at the Great Lakes Invitational in Detroit over the weekend, earning all-tournament team honors. Eaves is currently riding a seven-game point-scoring streak. Over that stretch, the captain has posted 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) and the Eagles are 7-0-0.
Eaves and the Eagles will take to the ice again on Saturday, January 3 when they travel to Matthews Arena to face Northeastern. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
