Indoor Track And Field Teams Compete Against Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed against Harvard in a non-scoring meet Wednesday evening, December 10 at the Gordon Track & Tennis Center.
Overall, the women's team captured first place in eight out of 12 events in which they competed while the men's team took home first in five of 13 total events.
On the women's side, freshman Kasey Hill (Montgomery Centre, Vt.) finished first in both the 60-meter hurdles (8.73) and the long jump (5.42m). Senior Jennifer Donovan (Melville, N.Y.) won the mile crossing the line in 4:59.74 and junior Melissa Sherman (Dennis, Mass.) captured first in the 800 (2:18.74).
Also winning their respective events were sophomores Laurel Burdick (Manlius, N.Y.), Jessica Fazekas (Closter, N.J.) and Saki Sugano (Bellevue, Wash.). Burdick finished atop the field in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:21.56, while Fazekas won the shot put, throwing 13.31 meters. Sugano cleared 3.60 meters to win the pole vault. Rounding out the first-place finishers for the women was freshman Lauren Reliford (Alexandria, Va.), who grabbed first in the triple jump leaping 10.82.
For the men, junior Ashley Jefferson (Newton, Mass.) won the 60-meter dash and classmate Daniel MacIsaac (Natick, Mass.) took first in the 800-meter run. Jefferson crossed the line in 7.51 and MacIsaac in 1:57.26. Jason Mayer (Medina, Ohio) cleared 3.75 meters to take home first in the pole vault.
Freshman Christopher Caulfield (Caldwell, N.J.) won the 400 in 52.85 while senior Keith Normant (Needham, Mass.) took first competing in the 60-meter hurdles.
The men's and women's track teams are back in action on Sunday, January 11, when they travel to New Haven, Conn. for the Yale Invitational.
