CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Connecticut Huskies (4-6-3, 2-1-1) defeated the Boston College women's ice hockey team (3-6-0, 0-4-0) for the second time of the weekend Sunday afternoon, 3-0.
The Eagles took early control of the puck, landing several shots on UConn's Kaitlyn Shain, but the Huskies regrouped and dominated for the remainder of the game. The shot was a smooth pass by UConn's Tiffany Owens and netted by Megan McLeod while the Huskies were shorthanded. The Huskies would land one more past Moynihan in the second period, and McLeoud got her second goal of the day closing the third period, with the Eagles net empty.
The Eagles put 21 shots on net, including five by the game's ITECH third star Sarah Courtney, but were unsuccessful. BC went 0-3 in power power play opportunities.
Boston College will return to action on Wednesday when they travel downtown to take on Northeastern. The game is set for 7 p.m.
