Melamed, Arnault Receive All-Conference Accolades

VERNON, Conn. - Boston College junior defender Guy Melamed (Nofit, Israel) has been named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and junior midfielder Bill Arnault (Clay, N.Y.) received second-team recognition the league announced at its annual soccer awards banquet Thursday night.
Melamed, a first-team selection for the second time in as many years, is one of 15 finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, which is awarded to the top player in NCAA Division I soccer. He is the cornerstone of an Eagle defense that posted eight shutouts in 14 games and finished tied for fewest goals allowed (14) in the conference.
Arnault, a product of Clay, N.Y., enjoys his third appearance in as many years on the all-BIG EAST team. After earning third-team honors as a freshman, Arnault received second-team recognition his sophomore and junior seasons.
Both outstanding students, Melamed and Arnault have been named to the 2003 CoSIDA Academic All-District I Soccer Team. Their names will be placed on the ballot for national Academic All-America.
