
Eagles Complete Play At ITA Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Boston College women's tennis team lost three second round matches and one third round match on day two of the ITA Eastern Regional Championships held at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the campus of Virginia Tech on Saturday. Junior Nida Waseem (Karachi, Pakistan) advanced to the third round of play but fell to Candace Fuchs, the tournament's No. 1 seed, 6-0, 6-4.
Waseem received a bye in first round competition and defeated Princeton's Alison Hashmall 6-3, 7-6(1) before dropping the match to Fuchs.
Also falling in singles play on Saturday were junior Morgan Landes (Huron, Ohio) and freshman Lindsey Nash (San Diego, Calif.), both losing to opponents from William & Mary. Nash fell to three-seeded Megan Muth while Landes lost her second round match to Kate Boomershine, 6-3, 6-1.
Waseem teamed with senior Emily Hellberg (Spring Lake, Mich.) and lost their second round doubles match to Chao and Shweky of Pennsylvania.
