Sports Information sat down with Kristin Kenney of the volleyball team to see just what makes volleyball such an intriguing sport on the East Coast after being a long standing pastime on the West Coast.
Q: When making your final decision to attend Boston College, what was the main reason for your choice?
"I loved the atmosphere of BC, and it was very highly regarded academically."
Q: What do you hope to get out of your experience at Boston College?
"I hope to get a great education and meet a lot of new people."
Q: What makes volleyball such an appealing game to play?
"It is such a fast paced game and the momentum could change in a second. It is so fun to play as well as watch."
Q: What is your greatest moment in athletics? Why?
"Winning the gold medal at nationals in 2001."
Q: Who is the toughest (high school or college) player you have faced? Why?
"Jen Abernathy because she is an awesome all-around player, and she is an amazing outside hitter."
Q: What is the best about Boston College?
"The volleyball team, of course!"
Q: Where is your favorite place to go in Boston?
"I love downtown Boston. There is nothing like it on the west coast."
Q: What is the best advice you have ever received?
"To never ever give up because you just never know, anything could happen."
Q: If you could talk to three people, who would they be?
"Dave Matthews, Stacy Sykora and Gabrielle Reece."
Q: What is something that people don't know about you?
"That I love volleyball more than just about anything!"
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years from now?
"I see myself having traveled around the world, and hopefully being a nurse or a teacher."

"The Oakland A's!"
