Hockey East Releases Women's League Preseason Poll

The Hockey East preseason coach's poll for women's hockey was released on Tuesday. The Eagles are ranked fourth this fall, behind Providence, New Hampshire and Maine. The conference is in its second year.
The Eagles were 12-17-3 overall last season, 2-10-3 in Hockey East. Boston College named Tom Mutch the head coach for the women's team over the summer, and he is expected to produce an outstanding program for the 2003-04 season.
Alaina Clark (Alhambra, CA) and Jill McInnis (Quincy, MA), the team's top performers, will both be returning to the ice. Clark led the team with 21 points last season, from 12 goals ands nine assists. McInnis led BC in assists with 15 during her freshman campaign.
The Providence Friars took top honors in the coach's poll, with five first place votes. BC will face the Friars four times this season. The Eagles will take to the ice against their first opponent the Polar Bears Hockey Club on Sunday, October 12. The puck will drop at 1 p.m. in Conte Forum.
