WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Alison Quandt was named Defensive Player of the Week for the first week of 2003 by the Hockey East Association on Monday. The Hockey East Rookie of the Month for December 2002 continued to play well to ring in the new year.

The freshman goaltender started two games for the Eagles last week, earning a tie against Connecticut and an overtime victory against Yale. In the two games, Quandt combined to stop 62 of 65 shots that came her way. She currently ranks second among conference goaltenders in goals against with 1.89, and boasts a .924 save percentage.
