WAKEFIELD, Mass. -- Boston College freshman defenseman Jill McInnis, of Quincy, Mass., was selected by the Women's Hockey East Association as its Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending January 26.

McInnis has registered a team-leading 12 assists this season, three of which came in BC's 5-4 loss to conference rival Northeastern University last Tuesday. Her strong defensive play helped the Eagles hold Quinnipiac to just one goal in two games this weekend, leading to two BC victories.

The Eagles return to action tonight at Kelley Rink as they host No. 1 Harvard at 7 p.m.
