CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College men's swimming and diving team got two big wins on Saturday afternoon at the Flynn Recreation Complex. In a combined dual meet against the University of Maine and Georgetown University, the Eagles dominated the pool.
Boston College started the meet well, with a first and third place finish from its 400 medley relay squads. Dave Herman topped the competition in the 1000 and 500 freestyle events, and Andy Naumann and Brandon Twichell earned the top two slots in the 200-IM. Twichell also bested his opponents in the 200 breaststroke. Tim Tully had two first-place finishes.
The Eagles earned quality points even when they didn't finish first, with several swimmers placing in each event. Naumann set a personal best in the 200-backstroke, despite finishing behind a Georgetown foe. Overall, the Eagles won with a great team effort.
In the end, the Eagles edged out rival Georgetown by a score of 123-113, and dominated the University of Maine, 181-52.
