
Women's Hockey Blanks Quinnipiac, 2-0

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Boston College women's hockey team (8-11-3) snapped a seven-game winless streak at Hamden, Conn. when it defeated Quinnipiac University (4-17) by a score of 2-0 on Friday evening.
Alaina Clark scored her team-leading 10th goal to put the Eagles on the board at 11:12 in the first period. Kaitlin McGrath and Genevieve Richardson were credited with the assists. After nearly two periods of scoreless play, Jessica Tychsen tallied her first goal of the year with under a minute to play in the game. Kerri Sanders and Jaclyn Kryzak each added their eighth assist of the 2002-03 campaign on the insurance goal.
The Eagles were out-shot, 25-17, but sophomore goaltender Lisa Davis put up a wall to shut out the Bobcats. Quinnipiac's Mel Courtemanche recorded 15 saves despite the loss.
The Eagles will go for the season-series sweep against the Bobcats when they skate against them tomorrow night, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. in Hamden. Boston College currently holds a 2-0 record over the Bobcats, with a 5-0 all-time series record.
