BOSTON, Mass. -- In a meet where the Eagles set season-best times in several events, the Boston College men's swimming team defeated Boston University by a score of 176-124. The Eagles took to the pool at Boston University on Wednesday evening, looking to stay undefeated coming out of the semester break.
The Eagles started the night strongly, with the 200-medley squad setting a 2002-03 season-best time, and did not let down, as they set season-record times in twelve events. Tim Tully touched first in the 200-free, while Dave Herman swam the distance in the 1000, and recovered to capture the 500-free title later in the evening. Brandon Twichell earned top billing with victories in the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke, while Nick Riolo topped the competition in the 200 butterfly. Tully earned his second victory of the night for the 200-backstroke. Matthias Schildwachter edged out the opponents, swimming a season-best, 54.83, in the 100-butterfly. The Eagles wrapped up the evening with another relay victory, this in the 400-freestyle.
