Men's Golf Takes Eighth at The McLaughlin

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Boston College men's gold team took eighth place out of 18 teams at The McLaughlin golf tournament, held Friday and Saturday on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park. The Eagles shot 289-301-590 in the weekend tournament. The event was scheduled for 54 holes, but was limited to 36 due to inclement weather on Friday. St. John's took first place, shooting 272-294-566.
Boston College was led by freshman Matt King who shot 71-74-145, tying him for 20th place. Sophomore Eric Recher was one shot behind King, shooting 69-77-146, while finishing tied for 22nd.
The Eagles finished the first round in seventh place, led by Recher who shot 35-34-69.
The Eagles return to action Oct. 5 when they compete in the U.S. Military Academy Invitational in West Point, N.Y.
