Boston College seniors Dan Koppen (Apex, NC) and Marc Parenteau (Pompano Beach, FL) are among 63 players named to the 2002 Outland Trophy watch list. The award is presented annually by the Football Writers Association of America to the top interior lineman in college football.
At 6-3 and 293 pounds, Koppen was the starting center for the Eagles in all 11 games plus the Music City Bowl last year and was a second-team All-BIG EAST selection. Parenteau, a 6-5, 308-pound tackle, was part of an offensive line that paved the way for 4,361 yards in total offense for the Eagles in 2001.
The winner of the 2002 Outland Trophy will be announced Dec. 12 on the ESPN College Football Awards Show from Orlando, Fla. Three finalists will be selected by the FWAA All-America Committee in late November and will appear on the show.
