CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The BIG EAST Conference announced its 2002 Preseason Volleyball Poll today. Boston College was selected tenth by league coaches after being tied for eighth place at the conclusion of last year. Three time defending BIG EAST Champion Notre Dame remained at the top of the rankings, with Pittsburgh and Rutgers close behind.
Boston College finished the 2001 season with a record of 18-11 overall and 5-7 in the BIG EAST. Coach Jackie Hadel's team hopes to continue this success in the 2002 campaign. They will compete against high-caliber teams in early non-conference tournaments in preparation for the tough BIG EAST schedule.
The Eagles take the court on August 30, 2002 at the College of Charleston Tournament in Charleston, S.C.
