Doornekamp Invited To Canadian Basketball Tryout

Boston College sophomore center Nate Doornekamp has been invited to participate in a tryout for a position on the national senior team and the development squad, according to an announcement made by Canada Basketball.
The invitational tryouts will be held from July 19-22, 2002 at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario.
The 29 athletes who received invitations will compete for spots on the senior team that will play in the World Championship of Basketball for Men in Indianapolis next month. Prior to the world championship, the Canadian senior team will travel to Turkey for an exhibition tournament.
In addition, some of the invitees will be selected to a development team that will play two exhibition games against an NIT All-Star Team.
Jay Triano will serve as head coach of the senior team, while Kevin Hanson will coach the development team.
